Carrara marble is a classic in interior design, bringing that timeless elegance and chill vibes. We first used it back in 2015 in a past project, and we just had to bring it back for our latest build. This time, we’re stepping it up by pairing it with brass, making it look extra luxe and sophisticated.

For the bath, we went all out with a “mono-material” look and had custom 2.5" x 10" leathered finish Carrara marble tiles made. This gave the tiles a unique texture that shows off the stone’s natural veining. The leathered finish isn’t just about looks—it’s slip-resistant too! Plus, the slightly matte finish contrasts perfectly with the shiny brass fixtures.

In the shower, the brass drain cover totally complements the Carrara tiles, creating a standout focal point. The mix of this classic marble and warm brass gives off a balanced vibe that’s both modern and timeless.

A lot of folks shy away from Carrara marble because they think the upkeep is too much hassle, but let me tell you, the beauty of this stone is totally worth it. Sure, it might need a little extra care to keep it looking pristine, but that's part of its charm. Over time, Carrara marble develops a patina that adds character and tells a story, making it even more stunning as the years go by. Embracing the natural wear and tear is like watching a classic leather jacket age—it only gets better and more unique with time. We used 1/16th spacers to make sure every tile was placed just right. Each tile was carefully lined up on the pre-slope shower floor, then labeled so the cuts would match at the slope break, keeping the natural veining in check for that organic yet polished look.
